Caption:
This patient presented with what turned out to be a case of tinea pedis, or ringworm of the foot, that had been caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton rubrum. From this ventral view, note the dry, scaly, cracked skin of the sole and toes, indicative of the characteristic symptomatology of this form of dermatophytosis.
