Under a magnification of 400X, this photomicrograph of a Gömöri stained tissue sample, revealed histopathologic details exhibited by a maduromycotic mycetoma granule that had been caused by the fungal organism, Pseudallescheria boydii>, which was formerly known as Petriellidium boydii, and Allescheria boydii. This view exposes some of the granule’s ultrastructure, including a matt of numerous, interwoven hyphae.
