Under a magnification of 500X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by an egg of a gastrointestinal nematode of the genus, Physaloptera. Members of the genus, Physaloptera, are parasitic in dogs, cats and other wildlife, and cause the disease, physalopterosis.
