Description:This photograph was one of a series of images highlighting the Native American Diabetes Wellness Program’s Eagle Books Exhibit at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Public Health Library and Information Center (PHLIC). The exhibit was hosted during the summer and fall of 2013. This particular image depicted what was Case 4/Shelf 3 of the exhibit.
Contained in this case, from left to right were a number of quotes about the importance of storytelling; a paperback entitled, "Stories to Reach, Teach, and Heal: A Guide for Diabetes Health Educators", by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); a game called, "Magic Beans: A Child's favorite Garden to Grow and Explore"; some quotes from those impacted by Eagle Books; an illustration, by Lisa Fifield; a Public Health Service (PHS) announcement entitled, "Our Cultures are Our Source of Health"; a DVD entitled, "CDC-TV Presents: Our Cultures are our Source of Health", from "The Wes Studi TV PSA and Video Series".
