This photograph was one of a series of images highlighting the Native American Diabetes Wellness Program’s Eagle Books Exhibit at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Public Health Library and Information Center (PHLIC). The exhibit was hosted during the summer and fall of 2013. The photograph depicted (L-R) a paperback copy of Knees Lifted High, by Georgia Perez, and translated to the Muscogee (Creek) language; a newspaper article from Today entitled, Taking Control of the Medium – and the Message: Muscogee (Creek) Nation Translate Health Books and Videos to Appeal to Kids, by Stephanie Woodard; a flyer for the Creek Council House Museum; a paperback copy of Through the Eyes of the Eagle, by Georgia Perez, illustrated by Patrick Rolo and Lisa Fifield.
