Description:This photograph was one of a series of images highlighting the Native American Diabetes Wellness Program’s Eagle Books Exhibit at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Public Health Library and Information Center (PHLIC). The exhibit was hosted during the summer and fall of 2013. This particular image depicted what was Case 1/Shelf 3 of the exhibit.
From left to right, the photograph depicted an image of the tribal leader's diabetes committee; an image of the CDC Tribal Consultation Advisory Committee; an unbound draft copy of "Through the Eyes of the Eagle", by Georgia Perez; a written prayer entitled, "Strong in Body and Spirit"; written quotes by tribal representatives regarding the Eagle Book series; the mission statement of the Native Diabetes Wellness Program; a quote from Janette Carter, Georgia Perez, and Susan Gililland; a flyer paying tribute to Janette Carter.
