This 1974 image depicts the wondrous Taj Mahal in Agra, India in the country’s northern State of Uttar Pradesh. The structure is 226 miles west of the state capital, Lucknow, and 124 miles to the south of India’s capital city of New Delhi. The image was captured sometime in January, or February, 1975, by a Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Bureau of State Services personnel, during a smallpox immunization tour.
