Created in 2000, this graph entitled, Figure 1. Rate of hypothermia-related deaths, by age and sex – United States, 1979-1996, and shows how hypothermia related deaths, for those younger than 64 years, were much less than those 65 or older, for both men and women. It seems that for all groups, there was a precipitous decline in 1989.
