This image depicts a close view of a patient’s right eye, highlighting the symptoms that had manifested, due to the systemic dissemination of Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacteria in a case of gonococcal urethritis. Known as gonococcal conjunctivitis, note the presence of scleral erythema, 24-hours after having been treated with 4.8 million units of aqueous procaine penicillin G (APPG) and probenecid.
