Lined with cotton, this Petri dish contained a number of capsules representing various commercially manufactured preparations of the painkiller, analgesic known as Darvon®, or propoxyphene, a narcotic pain reliever used to treat mild, to moderate pain. Included in this array was Darvon® 65 Compound. Each of these medications, which are available to consumers by way of a physician’s prescription, has the potential of becoming addictive, and which therefore, demand careful control, as to their usage both by the patient, and doctor.
