This patient presented with a case of systemically disseminated gonorrhea. Note the cutaneous lesion on the lateral left wrist, surrounded by an erythematous halo, which runs the length of the forearm along the lines of venous drainage. Gonorrhea is caused by the bacterium, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and If left untreated, will enter the blood, thereby, spreading throughout the body. As is shown here, a fully systemic dissemination may manifest itself as skin lesions throughout the body.
