From a right anterior-oblique perspective of a boy’s scalp, this patient exhibited symptoms of a scalp disorder known as favus. At this point in time, the infection was undergoing the process of healing. The hair loss, or alopecia, was a resolving symptom of the former infection. This cutaneous illness was caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton schoenleinii.
