Under a magnification of 1000X, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of a macroerythrocyte, or macrocyte, an enlarged erythrocyte (arrowhead), which when present, could indicate a condition known as macocytosis, or a blood disorder known as pernicious anemia, brought on by a vitamin B12 deficiency.
