This image depicts the left hand of a 14 year-old boy who had sustained an open fracture of both his radius, and ulna, and subsequently developed a case of wound botulism. The patient was shown here trying to write, and experienced great difficulty in controlling the muscles of his arm, though displaying no diminishment of his mental functions.
