This is one in a series of twenty-four images (PHIL 16125 - 16148) captured at a memorial ceremony exhibit entitled, “Honoring Dr. Stephen B. Thacker”. Depicted here, was the Philip S. Brachman Award, which had been presented to Dr. Thacker in 2002. The certificate read as follows: “The EIS Alumni Association Presents the Philip S. Brachman Award to Stephen B. Thacker, “A Distinguished Friend of the Epidemic Intelligence Service””. “It goes on to say, “With thanks for your valued contributions, which have made an important difference to the health, welfare and happiness of E.I.S. Officers and the entire E.I.S. Program.” The award was signed by the President of the E.I.S. Alumni Association, Alan R. Hinman, M.D.
