Under a magnification of 475X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton rubrum. Of importance, were the typical form of the multicellular septate macroconidia. Referred to as mitospores, for these reproductive structures are born out of the process of mitosis, and are therefore, haploid when they reach maturity.
