Caption:
This illustrative chart depicts a key used to determine the identity of a number of spiders that are known to be venomous, and which bite humans. Using the morphologic features of each of these arachnid species, a method of classification then takes shape. Features of interest include the placement and shape of fangs, placement, number, and shape of eyes, the body’s coloration and markings, and the size and placement of setae, or sensorial hairs.
