Caption:
This Petri dish culture plate had contained a growth medium that had been inoculated with the dematiaceous mold, Cladophialophora bantiana, formerly referred to as Cladosporium bantianum. After having been incubated for an unknown period, the culture grew a single, small, darkly pigmented colony, which exhibited a roughened surface. See PHIL 10897, for a photomicrograph of a tissue specimen, revealing the presence of numerous C. bantianum pigmented filamentous branching hyphae.
