This image, originally provided by Reed & Carnrick Pharmaceuticals, depicted an enlarged view of a crab, or pubic louse, Phthirus pubis from a dorsal perspective. Normally, Phthirus pubis is transmitted from person to person through direct sexual contact, and thereafter, infest the widely spaced pubic hair region in adults, and the eyelashes in affected children.
