This patient presented with a bilateral dermatitis affecting both lower legs that was diagnosed as lichen planus. Lichen planus is a skin disorder, the cause of which remains unknown, though suspected etiology includes stress-related factors, autoimmune origins, or possible viral pathogenic influences such as hepatitis C. It is characterized by scaly flattened bumps, which appear erythematous, and usually manifests itself on ones wrists and ankles.
