Caption:
This 1975 image depicts former Centers for Disease Control (CDC) graphic designer, Lee Oakley, seated at his drawing board, as he was in the process of creating illustrative teaching materials. At this time, the CDC’s graphic Arts Department was located on the organization’s Chamblee, Georgia campus. When completed, these drawings would then be placed upon a copy stand to be photographed, and then be converted into 35mm slides to be placed into a slide carousel, and combined with an audio soundtrack, and finally be used to produce a slide presentation.
