This was a 1968 celebration in Ghana honoring a child from that region, Rebecca Ansah Asamoah, who was the world’s 25-millionth smallpox vaccinee. In this particular scene, numbers of dignitaries had taken their seats, which had been arranged directly across the ceremonial field from the Ghanaian Chieftains.
