Caption:
With its aposematic bright red and black belly acting as a warning sign to predators, this partially-submerged Oriental fire-bellied toad, or Tuti toad, Bombina orientalis, was on display in a pet store aquarium for consumers to observe and purchase. These semi-aquatic amphibians spend most of their time on land in warm, moist forest regions of Korea, north-eastern China, and adjacent parts of Russia. This toad is minimally toxic, and care need be taken whenever handling this animal, or any aspect of its habitat, including its tank, rocks, etc.
