This photomicrograph of a trichrome-stained specimen, depicted a number of epithelial cells, which had been extracted from an unknown source. Epithelial cells can be found throughout the body, lining cavities, blood vessels, and covering the body’s surface. Epithelial cells also are integral in the formation of many types of glands, including sweat glands, salivary glands, sebaceous glands to name a few.
