This image depicts the anterior aspect of a patient’s lower legs, which displayed the pathologic consequences of an infestation of Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis, otherwise known as scabies. Of note, were the secondary severe excoriations, resulting from the patient having scratched at the primary maculopapular rash, caused by the scabies bites.
