Created in 1999, this line graph entitled, Suicide rates by branch of military service – United States, 1990-1999, showed how over an approximate nine year period, peaks in the suicide rates for each military branch rose after armed conflicts, and deployment of personnel to the conflict regions. Note how the Marines showed the highest peaks in suicide rates in 1990, 1993, 1995, and 1999, and how the Air Force revealed a precipitous drop off in its suicide rates after 1997.
