Description:This image depicts three Bacteroides bivius bacterial cultures, which had been grown on a blood agar plate (BAP) for a 48 hour time period.
An anaerobic, Gram-negative bacterium, Bacteroides bivius is often isolated in infections involving the human female pelvis such as endometritis, intra-amniotic infections, and obstetrical and gynecological infections in general.
