This image depicted three, Bacteroides bivius bacterial cultures, which had been grown on a blood agar plate (BAP) for a 48-hour time period. An anaerobic, Gram-negative bacterium, B. bivius is often isolated in infections involving the human female pelvis, including endometritis, intra-amniotic infections, and obstetrical and gynecological infections in general.
