Caption:
This 1976 image depicted a dog catcher, standing at the back end of his county issued flatbed vehicle, with its opened tailgate, exposing its interior, where a captured dog of unknown breed was lying down. The dog was on a leash held by the officer, who was petting the animal’s head. The photograph was used in a text entitled, “Dixon, Tiller County/U.S.A.: A Teaching Reference Community”, by Robert E Sanders, which was used to instruct readers in what is entailed in the implementation of appropriate public health infrastructure in newly-created communities.
