Caption:
This photomicrograph depicts a normal cytoarchitecture exhibited by a culture of human embryonic lung fibroblasts (HELF) cells. Cell cultures are used in the laboratory setting in order to cultivate pathogens, and to subsequently see the effects a given pathogen, if present, will have upon the normal cytoarchitecture exhibited by the original cell culture line. In this case, the pure cell culture of HELF cells, revealed a normal appearance without signs of aberrant growth patterns, or abnormal cell structure.
