Description:This photomicrograph depicts a normal cytoarchitecture exhibited by a culture of human embryonic lung fibroblasts (HELF) cells.
Cell cultures are used in the laboratory setting in order to cultivate pathogens, and to subsequently see the effects a given pathogen, if present, will have upon the normally-appearing cytoarchitecture of the original cell culture line. In this case, the pure cell culture of HELF cells reveals a normal appearance of these fibroblasts without signs of aberrant growth patterns, or abnormal cell structure.
