This 1977 image was captured during the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) involvement in the Lassa Fever Research Project (LFRP) in Sierra Leone. This happened to be one of the country’s celebratory displays depicting a large group of Sierra Leonean women, all attired in a red patterned dress, and all wearing a matching head dress.
