This picture was taken inside a home kitchen, and depicts a halved red bell pepper, Capsicum annuum, set atop a clean, well-worn cutting board. The pepper’s core had been exposed revealing numerous flat, round seeds, as well as its bright red flesh. Before being cut, this pepper was thoroughly washed with soap, and warm water, removing debris, and surface contaminants.
