Description:Photographed at a milling machine in his engineering suite, Engineering Technician, Mr. Jerry Kratzer, a member of the Engineering & Physical Hazards Branch of the Division of Applied Research and Technology (DART), was in the process of fabricating a microphone mounting device at the request of the Hearing Protection Group.

“We help save hearing, protect people, and support the mission of public health by providing better protection for the American worker by designing and fabricating devices that are not available on the commercial market”, says engineer Kratzer.
DART provides national and international leadership in research focused on the prevention of occupational illness and injury by developing and evaluating:

- Methods and tools to identify and quantify workplace hazards (chemical, physical, organizational);

- Strategies and technologies to control exposures to workplace hazards.
