This graph entitled, Serum cotinine levels among persons aged = 4 years – United States, third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 1988-1991, and compares the percentages of those with lower cotinine levels, between = 0.1ng/mL and 10ng/mL, considered to be nonsmokers, to smokers, whose cotinine levels ranged between 10-1000ng/mL. Note how cotinine, a nicotine metabolite was in the blood system of so many nonsmokers.
