This image depicts a single, older colony of fungal organisms from the genus Sepedonium, which had been cultivated on a medium of Sabouraud dextrose agar. Colonies of Sepedonium, initially (see PHIL 14752) display a waxy, white character, and as they age the colony develops a more woolly, or cottony texture, and an eggshell, or yellowing coloration.
