Depicted here, was a skin condition known as a cavernous strawberry hemangioma, a benign tumor derived from the endothelial cells that line blood vessels. Usually, these lesions are self-limiting, manifesting during the first few weeks of life, and undergoing resolution by ten years of age. This one developed on the surface on the skin, and took on the appearance of a strawberry, hence its name.
