This historic image depicts the holy site, or Pawapuri, also known as Apapuri, located in the Nalanda District of the State of Bihar, India. It is the historic site at which exists the shrine of the Jain religion. In this view, you can see the Jain Temple situated in the center of a beautiful lake. The scenario was captured sometime in January, or February, 1975, by Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Bureau of State Services personnel, during a smallpox immunization tour.
