This photomicrograph of an unknown tissue specimen, stained using the trichrome staining method, revealed the presence of epithelial cells. Epithelial cells can be found throughout the body lining cavities, blood vessels, and covering the body’s surface. Epithelial cells also are integral in the formation of many types of glands including sweat glands, salivary glands, sebaceous glands to name a few.
