Caption:
This photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural features exhibited by a zygospore of an unknown species of the genus, Mucor. Formed from the union of two hyphae, which are the filamentous fungal anatomical elements, the zygospore is composed of two suspensor cells, on either side of the centrally located, in this case, darkly-stained, zygospore.
