This 1981 photograph depicts a number of patient-isolation unit staff members, as they were carrying out a practice run involving the placement of a virtual patient inside a Vickers isolation unit. You can see the patient’s head, as she was lying supine inside the unit, atop a gurney. See PHIL 2554, for an image showing a mock patient, who was lying inside the Vickers enclosure. The image was captured during a trial run of a patient, who was transported from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to a nearby medical center. A doctor was administering care to the patient with supportive help provided by the Isolation Unit medical staff. See PHIL 14505 through 14529, for imagery documenting this practice emergent situational scenario.
