Captured in the tribal region of West Cameroon known as Banso, this historic photograph depicted the line of villagers awaiting their smallpox and measles vaccination, during the country’s participation in the worldwide efforts to eradicate, and control these diseases. Vaccinations took place starting at 7:00am, and continued until 4:00pm, in which time 5,695 smallpox, and 2025 measles injections were administered.
