Under high magnification, this photomicrograph reveals some of the histopathologic changes displayed by a section of small bowel tissue biopsy in a case of cryptosporidiosis, due to an unknown specie of Cryptosporidium. In this particular view, Cryptosporidium parasites can be seen parasitizing the small bowel epithelial cell lining (arrows).
