Description:The man and woman pictured here were inside one of the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) campus fitness centers, where a number of scheduled group classes, are provided for employees’ health and enjoyment. In this particular scenario, the two were participants in a Yoga class, having assumed the Bound Angle pose, or Baddha Konasana, stretching the groin muscles, shoulder muscles, and the tendons of the knee joint . The soles of the feet are touching, and the hand grasp the feet, while the elbows push outward against the inside of the knees.
The CDC offers classes in a wide variety of exercise modes including aerobic exercise sessions, core-stretching classes, Pilates, classes in T’ai Chi fundamentals, Yoga, and cycling sessions, but to name a few, all of which designed to improve upon the attendee’s health, and overall sense of wellbeing. The classes are not only designed to improve one’s physical constitution, but to be fun, and simultaneously mentally stimulating too.
