Description:Here we see a woman in a kitchen setting photographed in the process of slicing a freshly cleaned, whole pineapple atop a clean glass cutting board, removing its horny, thoroughly-washed exterior. In the background, you can see a bowl of washed baby carrots. It is very important to prepare foods in as clean environment as possible, thereby, minimizing the possibility of introducing foodborne contaminants into the food preparation process.
Some sink area safety tips offered by the Centers for Disease Control include:

- Thoroughly wash hands prior to food preparation, or eating.

- Clean cutting boards, knives, and countertops to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria.

- Learn if your drinking water is safe. If you use a private well, have the water tested for contaminants.
