Description:This image depicted a epidemiologic field technician in the process of collecting field data during an investigation in an unknown location. In this particular view, the scientist was collecting a blood sample from a bird that had been trapped during this study.
Epidemiologic investigations often include analyses of indoor and outdoor environments. The capture of possible pathogen carriers, and performing tests on suspected vectors, can lead to the creation of preventative measures, thereby, thwarting the next outbreak, or the spread of an on-going epidemic.
