Under a low magnification of only 70X, this hematoxylin-eosin-stained (H&E) photomicrograph depicts the cytoarchitectural changes found in a liver tissue specimen extracted from a Dengue hemorrhagic fever patient in Thailand. This particular view reveals “focal necrosis of liver cells without an accompanying inflammatory infiltrate. It is the peripheral regions that are the sites of uneven, discrete lymphocytic infiltration”.
