This image depicts the lower lip of a white female patient, who had been suffering from a mucosal ulceration, which was diagnosed as periadenitis mucosa necrotica recurrens. A painful lesion, resembling many other oral ulcerative conditions, periadenitis mucosa necrotica recurrens is also known as a major aphthous ulcer, and canker sore, and its cause remains unknown.
