This is an enlarged view of a Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito pupa. C. quinquefasciatus is known as one of the many arthropodal vectors responsible for spreading the arboviral encephalitis, West Nile virus (WNV) to human beings through their bite, when obtaining a blood meal.
