This photograph reveals a posterior-superior view of a patient’s scalp, revealing the presence of multiple coin lesions on the scalp’s surface, where alopecia had occurred, due to what was diagnosed as a case of ringworm, which had been caused by the dermatophyte, Trichophyton tonsurans. In this particular case, the scalp lesions had become suppurative, or infected.
