This photograph depicts the colonial morphology displayed by Gram-negative, Burkholderia thailandensis bacteria, which was grown on a medium of sheep’s blood agar (SBA), for a 24-hour time period, at a temperature of 42°C. See PHIL 12432, for a closer view of these bacterial colonies. Also, see both PHIL 12401 and 12402, for views of this bacterial species, grown on the same medium, but at a lesser temperature (37°C), and for twice the time (48hr). PHIL 12408 and 12409, also display B. thailandensis colonial growth on the same medium, and the same temperature, but at twice the time period (48hr). Finally, PHIL 12423 and 12424, display this species’ bacterial growth, again on SBA, and for the same amount of time (24hr), but at a lesser temperature (37°C).
