Description:This historic 1965 image depicted a Centers for Disease Control’s laboratory technician as she was conducting a cholesterol determination analysis by manual method.
Determining cholesterol blood levels is still an integral test when performing a blood chemistry analysis, for high cholesterol levels has been linked to heart attack and stroke.

Modern day protocols now call for the laboratorian executing such tasks, to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety goggles, gloves, and a face mask.
